UPDATE: A 30-year-old man has been arrested as a suspect in Patricia Williamson’s death.

A woman killed by a hit-and-run driver Saturday just two blocks from her Parkland house has been identified as 69-year-old Patricia Williamson.

The collision took place just before 9 p.m. near 138th Street South and Yakima Avenue.

The driver of a white 1996 Ecoline van crashed into Williamson’s Ford Escape, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Witnesses said the hit-and-run driver moved several items from his damaged van into a smaller van within minutes of the crash, then drove off down 138th Street South.

Investigators have not identified the driver, described as a white man of medium height and weight.

Williamson died after the crash.

She leaves behind six children, 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Family members gathered Sunday to pray at the spot where Williamson was killed.
