85-year-old woman suspected of killing roommate, shooting another at Federal Way home

An 85-year-old woman killed one roommate and shot another in their Federal Way home early Thursday, police said.

Officers were called to the home in the 2000 block of SW 306th Lane around 1 a.m. by a woman who called 911 to say she’d been shot.

Inside, police found one woman dead from blunt force trauma and another suffering from a gunshot wound.

Both victims are in their 30s.

The surviving victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with non-life threatening injuries.

The elderly woman was arrested after allegedly trying to strangle herself.

No motive has been established, but police told KIRO-TV it was a “domestic violence situation.”
