He broke into Pierce County homes on Christmas Eve. Do you recognize him?

Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying a man who broke into several homes and vehicles in the Summit area during the holidays.

A series of burglaries took place Dec. 24 along 90th Street East between Canyon Road East and Woodland Avenue East.

In most cases, a man kicked open or pried open doors to rummage through Christmas presents and tamper with homeowners’ food and clothing.

“In some of the homes, evidence left by the suspect has investigators concerned that there might be a sexual motivation to the crimes,” according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Several victims did not realize they had been burglarized for days because they were away for Christmas.

People who live in that neighborhood are asked to check their surveillance cameras for images of suspicion people or vehicles in the area on Christmas Eve.

Anyone with information is asked to call Tacoma-Pierce County Crimestoppers at 222-TIPS (8477) or messaging the department on its Facebook page.
