Man arrested in connection with fatal Tacoma shooting

Tacoma police on Tuesday arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting.

Someone called 911 about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday to report a possible shooting at the corner of East L Street and Puyallup Avenue.

Passersby helped the victim until officers arrived and started CPR.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. He died shortly afterward.

His identity has not been released.

Detectives did not release information about what led up to the shooting.

On Tuesday night, a man was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder. He is expected to appear in court Wednesday.

This is the city’s second homicide of the year.
