1 injured in road rage incident in Auburn after shooting, crash into semi truck

A road rage incident in Auburn Sunday night prompted a gunshot and vehicle to crash into a semi truck, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

One person was taken to an area hospital just after 10 p.m.

A driver traveling northbound on state Route 167 “brake checked” another car driving close behind in the 5500 block of South 277th Street, sheriff’s spokesman Ryan Abbott said.

The driver who was brake checked fired a single shot at the other car, and the first driver sped off and crashed into a truck near the off-ramp to state Route 167.

No one appeared to be struck by the bullet.

The driver who crashed into the semi was taken to Valley Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The shooter fled the scene before deputies arrived and has not been arrested.
