3 arrested in shooting that killed woman, critically injured man at Tacoma home
Tacoma police arrested three people late Wednesday in connection with a shooting that killed one woman and critically injured her fiance.
The suspects, two men and a woman, were booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
They are expected to be charged and make their first court appearance Thursday.
Police say the trio are responsible for the death of Kelsea Carlson, 28, who was found dead inside her home Friday.
Officers rushed to the home in the 1400 block of South Union Avenue after Carlson’s fiance called 911 about 11:45 p.m., provided their address and asked police to “hurry up” before he disconnected the call.
Carlson’s fiance, 33, was found lying on the sidewalk outside the home with a gunshot wound.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
Carlson was pronounced dead inside their home.
She died of multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Detectives have not released a motive for the shootings.
Carlson leaves behind a young daughter, Harper.
“She had the world ahead of her and was on track to finally achieve happiness in her life,” according to a GoFundMe account. “Many speed bumps and other obstacles have stood in her way, most, of her all too short life. But perseverance and a stubborn will got her through it all.”
