Gig Harbor man killed in crash on SR 302 has been identified
A Gig Harbor man who died after losing control of his truck has been identified.
Jesse Kupietz, 39, was traveling east on state Route 302 just after 5 p.m. Saturday when his vehicle veered to the right, struck a guardrail and went off the road.
The Dodge Dakota also struck several trees about 11 miles west of Purdy.
Kupietz was killed in the crash.
The passenger, a 38-year-old Bremerton man, sustained minor injuries.
Troopers said Kupietz was driving too fast for road conditions. and was not wearing a seat belt.
