The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

John F. Flynn

Age: 63.

Description: 5-feet-11 and 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 8800 block of South Hosmer Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1994 of first-degree rape in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a woman. Convicted in 1988 of second-degree rape in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a woman he knew.

Sex offender treatment: He did not participate in a treatment program while at the state’s Special Commitment Center.

Arthur Smith

Age: 64.

Description: 6-feet-1 and 190 pounds, with gray hair and hazel eyes.

Where registered to live: 1800 block of East 34th Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 1993 of second-degree rape in King County for sexually assaulting a woman. Convicted in 1980 on two counts of rape in Alaska for separate, violent sexual assaults.

Sex offender treatment: He participated in a treatment program while at the state’s Special Commitment Center.

Raymond Patee

Age: 35.

Description: 6-feet-2 and 250 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 3800 block of McKinley Avenue, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2001 of sexual battery in Sacramento, California, for sexually assaulting a 7-year-old boy. Convicted in 2004 of first-degree child rape in Pierce County for assaulting a 6-year-old boy.

Sex offender treatment: He did not participate in a treatment program while incarcerated.
