The following convicted sex offenders have recently registered to live in Pierce County.

Each is categorized as a Level 3 sex offender — those considered most likely to commit similar crimes. None is wanted by law enforcement officers at this time.

All convicted sex offenders registered to live in Tacoma and Pierce County are listed on the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s website at piercesheriff.org.

Travis M. Rowland

Age: 38.

Description: 6-feet-2 and 240 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 8800 block of South Hosmer Street, Tacoma.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2005 of third-degree child rape in Pierce County for having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl. Convicted in 1999 of second-degree rape and first-degree burglary with sexual motivation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman.

Sex offender treatment: He participated in a treatment program while incarcerated.

Joseph Peterson

Age: 52.

Description: 5-feet-9 and 230 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Where registered to live: 10400th block of Golden Given Road East.

Criminal history: Convicted in 2005 of third-degree child assault with sexual motivation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl. Convicted in 2007 of second-degree assault for sexually assaulting a woman. Convicted in 2010 of third-degree child molestation in Pierce County for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl at a fitness center.

Sex offender treatment: He participated in but did not complete a treatment program while incarcerated.
