Tacoma woman accused of beating boyfriend with baseball bat

A Tacoma woman was arrested Monday for allegedly beating her boyfriend with a baseball bat.

Police were called about 5:40 p.m. to a home in the 3700 block of Yakima Avenue for a domestic disturbance.

They found a 34-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to a local hospital.

The woman, also 34, was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault.

Detectives have not released details about the argument or what led up to the attack.

At least one of the couple’s three children was home at the time, police said.

The woman was granted a protection order against the man in July, claiming “constant vulgar verbal abuse,” according to court documents.

She also said he hit her in her sleep, threw things at her and ripped her clothes, records say.

A judge ruled that the man could continue living in their house and ordered the woman and children to move out by August 2019.

It was not immediately clear who was staying in the home at the time of the attack.

The protection order was later terminated.
