Masked gunmen flee after attempted robbery at Tacoma marijuana store
Police are searching for suspects in an attempted robbery that occurred June 7 at a marijuana store.
Two men entered Pot Zone in the 800 block of 72nd St. E. in Tacoma at 9:03 p.m. The two suspects, both wearing masks, brandished handguns and requested cash from the three store employees present. No customers were in the store at the time.
After one of the employees called 911, the suspects left the business.
One suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s, approximately 6-foot-2 and wearing a black hoodie, black sweats and white shoes. The second suspect is described as a Black male in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-8, wearing a maroon Nike hoodie, light gray pants and black and white shoes. The two suspects were both wearing surgical-type masks.
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Ed Troyer said they are considering the possibility the attempted robbery is connected to other crimes.
“We’re working with other agencies and looking at other robberies,” Troyer said.
Police have no suspects.
