Man critically injured in shooting outside Lakewood restaurant. Police seek information
A man was shot multiple times in his car in the parking lot of a Lakewood fast food restaurant on Sunday night, police said.
The man is in critical condition after suffering life-threatening injuries.
The shooter or shooters remained at large Thursday morning.
Police said the shooting occurred around 10:15 p.m at the restaurant in the 10600 block of South Tacoma Way.
According to Lakewood Police, officers arrived at the scene shortly after and discovered the victim had been shot multiple times. Officers performed life-saving techniques on the victim, and he was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.
Detectives were called to the scene and determined someone pulled into the parking lot in a mid- to late 2000’s black Jeep Cherokee, according to a news release from Lakewood police.
A exited the front passenger seat of the Jeep, approached the victim’s vehicle and fired at him.
The shooter was described as a Black man, 25-30 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with facial hair, a thin build and wearing a white shirt and athletic shoes.
Immediately after the shooting, the Jeep fled south on the South Tacoma Way extension passing the Pierce Transit park-and-ride lot toward 112th Street South, according to the press release.
