Man fatally shot in Tacoma parking lot. Several gunmen seen fleeing scene

A 28-year-old was fatally shot Wednesday in Tacoma, police said.

Detectives are trying to figure out what happened, but said the incident involved several shooters.

It started just before 5 p.m. in the Department of Licensing parking lot in the 6400 block of South Yakima Avenue.

Police were called after people reported hearing gunshots and officers found multiple shell casings.

Moments later, the victim was found inside an SUV near South 54th and South J streets.

The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No one has been arrested.

Detectives are processing the scene and trying to figure out what happened.
