Woman killed in Buckley car fire has been identified
A 30-year-old woman who died in a car fire in Buckley earlier this week has been identified.
Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are still trying to determine what caused Chelsea Ulrich, of Enumclaw, to drive her car off the road Monday.
A passerby called 911 just before 8 a.m. to report a vehicle on fire in the 28600 block of Sumner-Buckley Highway.
By the time firefighters and deputies arrived, Ulrich’s car was completely engulfed.
She died of smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, which ruled her death an accident.
