Man fatally shot during robbery at Tacoma homeless camp has been identified

A man fatally shot during a robbery at a homeless camp in Tacoma has been identified.

Police say three men robbed several people in the 6600 block of South Alaska Street just after 11:30 p.m. Friday.

During the incident, a 39-year-old man was shot in the chest and killed.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Terrence Wilkins of Port Orchard.

Wilkins was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses said the three men — two of whom committed the robbery and one who stood guard as a lookout —wore masks and fled in a vehicle.

No arrests have been made.
