A woman was struck by a vehicle and killed during an overnight rainstorm on Friday night in the Frederickson area, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1900 block of 78th Ave. E. at 9:34 p.m. on Friday. The 911 caller reported that a transient was pushing a shopping in the middle of the road when they were struck by a SUV; Deputies enroute to the scene noted it was raining heavily.
