Man shot and killed in Tacoma, the 2nd homicide this week

Tacoma police were investigating a fatal shooting early Friday.

Officers were called about 1:35 a.m. to the 3900 block of East Portland Avenue after someone called 911 to report hearing gunshots.

Although police responded within minutes, no one was at the scene when they arrived.

The victim, a 26-year-old man who has not been identified, was dropped off at an area hospital, where he died.

Detectives have not released details about the homicide.

No one is in custody.

This is the second homicide in the city this week. On Monday, a 19-year-old man was fatally shot in the 1300 block of South 23rd Street.
