Man found shot dead in stairwell of Parkland apartment complex
A man was fatally shot in a Parkland apartment complex Tuesday.
At 2:18 a.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots fired at the Autumnwood North Apartments on 8th Avenue East.
Police found a man at the bottom of the stairwell, department spokesperson Ed Troyer said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.
One witness told deputies someone ran from the apartment complex toward 112th Street after the shots were fired, Troyer said.
No arrests have been made.
