Tacoma man killed in Oct. 1 shooting has been identified

A man who was shot to death inside a Tacoma home Oct. 1 has been identified.

James Kenneth Wamsley, 42, was shot and killed in a homicide, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Tacoma police responded to the residence in the 7600 block of South J Street just before 7 p.m. after receiving a 911 call.

Officers found Wamsley unresponsive. Fire department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.

Detectives are investigating Wamsley’s death, police said.
