Pierce County pharmacy tech accused of shooting at ex-girlfriend has license suspended

A Pierce County pharmacy technician accused of attempted murder and kidnapping has had his license suspended, “pending further legal action,” a news release from the state Department of Health said Tuesday.

The Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission suspended David Clarke-Levy’s license after he was charged in Pierce County Superior Court.

The 43-year-old pleaded not guilty at arraignment last year to first-degree attempted murder and first-degree kidnapping.

Clarke-Levy allegedly pointed a gun at a former girlfriend and said he was going to kill them both, and then forced her into his car July 21, 2020, charging papers said. He allegedly shot at her when she later jumped out of the car and ran away.

“... the Commission finds that pointing a gun at a person, kidnapping, threatening to kill, and shooting at a person, as alleged here ... are very dangerous behaviors and demonstrate respondent is an immediate danger to others,” part of the Department of Health record of his suspension said.

His certified nursing assistant credential was suspended last month.

He has 20 days to ask for a hearing.
