A man was shot to death in Puyallup on Wednesday morning and police are investigating his death as a homicide.

Officers from Puyallup Police Department responded to the 3200 block of East Main Avenue at 1:16 a.m., department spokesperson Capt. Jason Visnaw said. He said witnesses told police they heard several gunshots and saw someone running from the scene.

Arriving officers found a man in the front seat of a small SUV. He appeared to have died from a gunshot wound and is believed to be in his 40s. Visnaw said the vehicle was in a parking lot and had multiple bullet holes in it.
