Multiple shots fired, 1 man injured in drive-by shooting overnight in Tacoma
A man was hit by gunfire in a drive-by shooting early Friday morning in downtown Tacoma, police said. His injuries were not life-threatening.
Officers responded about 12:40 a.m. to the 1300 block of Fawcett Avenue after several people called 911 to report they heard gunshots, department spokesperson Wendy Haddow said.
Haddow said the gunshots came from a vehicle. A 23-year-old man was struck in the leg and arm. He transported himself to the hospital.
No one has been arrested.
The downtown shooting came hours after four people were shot dead on Tacoma’s Eastside in the Salishan neighborhood. No arrests have been made in that shooting, which was first reported at 4:24 p.m. near the 4200 block of Everett Street.
