Lakewood police investigating homicide after woman found dead in vehicle

Lakewood police are investigating a homicide after a woman was found dead Sunday in a vehicle.

Police responded after 911 calls just before 7:30 p.m. reported a vehicle crash and gunshots near the 6100 block of 112th Street Southwest, Lakewood Police Department spokesperson Lt. Chris Lawler said.

At the scene, police found a woman dead inside a crashed vehicle. Lawler said the woman died from gunshot wounds. She has not been identified.

Police partially closed roads in the area for several hours Sunday night while they were at the scene.

It’s not clear what led up to the crash or shooting. Police did not have more information to disclose Monday morning. The investigation is ongoing.
