Pierce County deputies looking for vehicle tied to fatal Midland shooting

Pierce County deputies are seeking help from the public to track down a vehicle connected to the Saturday night shooting in Midland that left a 27-year-old man dead and three others wounded.

Two people thought to be connected to the shooting were seen fleeing in a white or light-colored, four-door sedan, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies said the car was making sputtering noises.

The shooting occurred about 11:19 p.m. at an apartment complex near the intersection of 76th Street Court East and Golden Given Road East. Deputies asked residents who live in that area to check security cameras for images of the car.

Deputies shared a map of the area where the car might have been spotted. People with video of the vehicle were asked to contact the department on one of its social media accounts.

It’s still not clear what led up to the shooting. Deputies initially said the four shooting victims were parked in two cars when another vehicle approached and fired shots.

The man killed in the shooting has not been identified. Deputies said three of the men injured in the shooting were related.
