Armed robbers steal cash, product from Tacoma pot shop, police say

Tacoma police are investigating after a pot shop was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night.

Tacoma Police Department officers responded about 11:15 p.m. to the store in the 5900 block of North 26th Street. Department spokesperson Wendy Haddow said three people who were wearing masks and armed with handguns robbed the store and fled in a vehicle.

The robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and product.

Officers searched the area using a police dog, but they did not locate any suspects.

Washington state pot shops in surrounding counties have seen a recent spike in robberies, but local law enforcement officials told The News Tribune they haven’t seen an uptick in thefts in Tacoma and Pierce County.
