A former Bethel High School student reportedly brought a gun to the school’s campus in Spanaway on Friday, and the school went into lockdown. Pierce County deputies said no shots were fired, and no one was injured.

It’s unclear whether the student actually had a firearm. In a brief phone call, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson Sgt. Darren Moss said the former student implied he had a gun, and that one person reported seeing him with a gun.

The former student and two other current students were detained by deputies, according to a 12:10 p.m. tweet from the agency.

Moss said in a video that deputies responded and the three were chased off school grounds into an adjacent neighborhood.

Moss said the two other students who were with him were causing a disturbance. The school later moved into a modified lockdown, he said. No more details were immediately available.
