Tacoma police share photo of truck used in vehicular assault. Have you seen it?
Police are seeking help from the public to identify the person responsible for a vehicular assault in Northeast Tacoma that left a pedestrian with life-threatening injuries.
The person was hit about 7:10 a.m. March 2 in a residential neighborhood, according to a bulletin shared by Tacoma Police Department. The person struck was critically injured but is expected to survive.
The driver of the white pickup that hit the person didn’t stop.
Detectives believe the pickup is a 2010s Chevrolet 2500 or 3500 that is lifted and has a diesel engine and possibly modified exhaust. Photos showed the truck had tinted windows, black aftermarket rims and front bumper and an unknown object on the roof. Police said the object could be LED lights.
Anyone with information about the truck or vehicular assault was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Tipsters who provide information that leads to an arrest and charges filed can receive up to $1,000.
