Woman dies from jump off Tacoma Narrows Bridge

A woman died Monday after jumping off the eastbound Tacoma Narrows Bridge, officials said Tuesday.

Washington State Patrol troopers believe the woman, who has not been identified, walked to the eastbound lanes on state Route 16 because no vehicle was found.

A passerby saw the woman leap from the bridge just before 1 p.m.

Tacoma firefighters recovered her body.
