Cause of Tacoma wreck that killed 18-year-old not clear
It may never be clear what caused a Tacoma crash that killed an 18-year-old girl April 10, police said.
Heidy Morales was driving an SUV on the East L Street overpass about 4 p.m., when the vehicle sharply turned on the bridge, crashed through the guardrail, and plunged onto Interstate 5 below, police and witnesses said.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death an accident.
No one else was hurt.
Police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said Thursday that investigators probably won’t be able to determine what caused the wreck.
