Washington State Patrol seeks suspect in drive-by shooting at Puyallup intersection
Washington State Patrol troopers are seeking help from the public to identify and locate a man suspected of firing a gun at a person’s vehicle last week in Puyallup.
The incident occurred about 5:32 a.m. July 8 at state Route 161 and state Route 167, according to a WSP news release. After a collision at the intersection, troopers said the driver of a black Scion pulled a gray handgun and fired a single round into the other vehicle’s passenger-side quarter panel.
Troopers didn’t specify details of the collision that occurred before the shooting, which involved the Scion and a gray Dodge RAM pickup. According to the release, the pickup stopped on the side of the road after the collision, and the Scion pulled up alongside it to fire the gunshot. Then, the Scion continued north on state Route 167.
The Scion was described as having dark, tinted windows and a body style similar to 2007 models. Investigators believe collision damage is likely visible on the Scion’s driver’s side.
Anyone with more information about the shooting was asked to contact Detective Tessa Schahfer at 253-538-3172.
