Medical examiner identifies man killed in hit-and-run on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma

A 32-year-old man killed in a hit-and-run last month on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma was identified Wednesday by the medical examiner.

Brennan Morford died Nov. 25 after he was hit by a vehicle near Pacific and South 88th Street, according to a news release from the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause and manner of the man’s death are still pending. A hometown was not listed for him.

A Tacoma Police Department spokesperson said Thursday that no arrests have been made, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. The hit-and-run was reported at about 6 a.m. that morning, and Officer Shelbie Boyd said the victim was in the street when he was hit. She didn’t have further information to share about the vehicle that struck him.

Personnel with Tacoma Fire Department responded to the incident and declared Morford dead at the scene.

A portion of Pacific Avenue was shut down for several hours because of the collision.
