A 59-year-old woman died Friday in a head-on collision in Tacoma.

The woman has not been identified.

The crash happened just before 7 a.m. at South 19th Street and South M Street, Tacoma police said.

The woman’s eastbound car crossed the center line of 19th Street and hit a pickup truck traveling west, police detective Dan Davis said.

It was unclear why the woman’s car crossed into oncoming traffic.

The pickup driver was not seriously hurt.
