4-month-old Tacoma boy dies of non-accidental injuries. Father booked on suspicion of murder

A 4-month-old boy died from traumatic injuries, and his 23-year-old father has been arrested on suspicion of murder, Tacoma police said Wednesday.

Tacoma Fire Department personnel responded Tuesday evening to an apartment in the 6300 block of North 26th Street for a report of an infant not breathing. They began life-saving measures and transported the child to a hospital, police said.

The infant died at the hospital Wednesday. Staff there determined the child had injuries caused by non-accidental trauma, according to police.

Officers and detectives responded to the hospital. The suspect was arrested and booked for investigation of second-degree murder.
