2 arrested in Tacoma on suspicion of robbing bank on Pacific Avenue

Tacoma Police Department arrested two people Tuesday suspected of robbing a bank earlier this month.

The suspects, a 27-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man, were booked into Pierce County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery, police said.

Police suspect the two robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 5245 Pacific Ave. The robbery occurred April 14. Police spokesperson Wendy Haddow said the woman entered the business wearing a blue protective mask, then demanded money from a teller while implying she had a weapon. Customers were inside at the time.

The woman left on foot with cash, according to police, and then met up with the man a short distance away who provided her with a change of clothes.

Police arrested her while in Tacoma shortly after 9 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release, and the man was arrested at about 11 a.m. at a business in Tacoma.
