Man found dead on Tacoma street after multiple callers report gunfire

Reports of gunfire Monday led Tacoma police to a shooting victim on Puyallup Avenue.

Multiple callers to 911 reported shots fired just before 4:30 p.m., according to police spokesperson Shelbie Boyd.

When police and Tacoma Fire Department personnel arrived in the 200 block of Puyallup Avenue, they found an adult male victim and began life-saving aid.

Fire personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene. Detectives and crime scene technicians were investigating the death as a homicide Monday evening, Boyd said.

Three vehicles appeared to be involved in a collision at the crime scene, but police did not provide any further information on that aspect.
