A Tacoma man has been arrested with two other Seattle-area men for illegal possessing firearms. They could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

Marquise Tolbert, 27, was convicted in King County in September 2022 for illegally possessing a firearm, which resulted in him being prohibited from having guns, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Western District of Washington. The office stated Tolbert is alleged to have illegally possessed firearms again on May 28 and June 1.

The other men arrested are Parchey Kelly, 29, of Issaquah and Kisean Coleman, 22, of Renton. Both have criminal convictions related to domestic violence, theft and robbery. They also are prohibited from carrying a firearm.

Tolbert and the other men arealso connected to a criminal complaint regarding a drug-trafficking operation. The Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI Safe Streets and Seattle Police Gun Violence Reduction Unit were investigating a gang-related shootout in Federal Way when they identified Tolbert, Coleman and Kelly via wiretap discussing their plans to obtain, buy and sell firearms, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. The men also exchanged messages with images of guns they wanted to buy or sell.

On May 30, law enforcement searched Kelly’s car and residence in Issaquah and seized four firearms.

The wiretap conversation from June 1 indicated Tolbert was buying a Ruger handgun from Coleman. With a search warrant, authorities searched the Tacoma man’s residence and seized the firearm, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Tolbert was arrested Thursday on the federal possession charges when he met with his state probation officer. Kelly and Coleman were arrested the same day.
