A Tacoma teenager was in custody Monday after being arrested for making online threats against a Seattle nightclub, police say.

Seattle Police Department officers assigned to the agency’s Community Violence Task Force and Robbery Unit arrested the 17-year-old boy Thursday after he allegedly said online that he was going to shoot up a Pioneer Square club.

A 911 call from a concerned citizen reported the post, which involved an upcoming event at the club, according to Seattle Police spokesperson Officer Shawn Weismiller.

Police determined the threats were credible and developed probable cause to arrest the teenager in Tacoma. Detectives found a handgun in his possession.

Detectives then served a search warrant on the juvenile’s home and found a semiautomatic rifle and a 9 mm drum magazine with ammunition.

The teenager was booked into King County’s Youth Services Center for investigation of threats to bomb or injure property by unlawfully threatening to injure a place of public assembly/place used for human occupancy and investigation of unlawful possession of firearms.
