Man shot dead in street after altercation in Pierce County on Wednesday, deputies say
A man was fatally shot in the street after an altercation in Spanaway early Wednesday morning, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Deputies responded to a shooting with a person down at 12:56 a.m. in the 1800 block of 187th Street Court East. They found a man dead from gunshot wounds, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Witnesses told deputies the suspect was inside a nearby house. Deputies surrounded the home and told everyone to come out, according to the Sheriff’s Department. People who had been in the home said that there had been an altercation outside before the shooting, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Pierce County forensic investigators arrived to document and collect evidence.
The dead man’s name has not been made public.
No arrests were immediately reported.
