Man killed, another injured in Tacoma shooting. Homicide investigation is underway

Two men were shot in Tacoma on Sunday, one of them fatally, police said.

According to Tacoma Police Department, officers went to the scene in the 3500 block of South 19th Street about 2 a.m. after receiving a call about a possible shooting. They located a man, 57, who had suffered a gunshot wound, and they began life-saving measures. Officers were informed of a possible second victim who fled the scene.

The second victim is a 50-year-old man, who also had a gunshot wound. He was found by a K-9 unit at about 2:30 a.m. Both men were transported to a local hospital by the Tacoma Fire Department. The first man died at the hospital, and the second man is in stable condition, police said.

The names of the victims have not been released. Detectives and crime scene technicians are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

As of Monday morning no arrests have been made, police said.
