Washington State Patrol is asking for help locating witnesses to a hit-and-run collision that killed a man in Graham earlier this month.

According to a news release, a 68-year-old man was hit by a black pickup while he was trying to walk across Meridian Avenue at 196th Street Court East at around 8:55 p.m. on Sept. 2.

Witnesses reported they saw the pickup stop at the scene. A man thought to be the driver got out, quickly returned to the pickup and drove away from the area. The truck is described as a black 2004 to 2008 Lincoln Mark LT, the release said.

The man who was hit was taken to a hospital where he later died of his injuries.

The release said a black 2006 Lincoln Mark LT pickup was located by WSP detectives on Thursday and impounded. Detectives need additional information from potential witnesses.
