Teen shot in the foot near Mount Tahoma High School; no information on shooter

A teenager was shot in the foot near Mount Tahoma High School on Friday afternoon.

The 16-year-old boy was waiting by a bus stop when he was shot. He walked home and later taken to the hospital by his grandmother. Tacoma Police Department was notified about 3:15 p.m. and went to the scene, said spokesperson officer Shelbie Boyd.

School was not in session at the time of the incident because it was a half day.

There was no immediate information about about a possible suspect.
