Man shot dead in Tacoma on Monday, police say. Alleged gunman arrested

A 31-year-old man was shot dead in Tacoma on Monday.

Police were dispatched just after 1 p.m. to the 7000 block of South 12th Street regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a man who had suffered a gunshot wound. After lifesaving measures were performed, the Tacoma Fire Department pronounced the man deceased, a news release said.

Tacoma police have not released information on whether a suspect has been located.

Oct. 24 update: A 31-year-old man was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder, Tacoma police reported Tuesday.

On Monday, the suspect was contacted by on-scene officers and later interviewed. Through their investigation, detectives established probable cause to arrest the man.
