One of the people killed during shooting at Alleycat bar identified by medical examiner
One of the people killed during a shooting at Tacoma’s Alleycat bar on Sunday has been formally identified.
James Reha, 35 of University Place, died from multiple gunshot wounds. His manner of death was homicide, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office. Reha was killed during the early-morning hours at the popular bar in the 2700 block of 6th Avenue.
Alante Bryan Peterson surrendered to Tacoma Police Department officers that afternoon. He was charged with two counts of aggravated first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault, according to a previous News Tribune story.
A 34-year-old woman who also was shot in the bar died at a local hospital from her injuries. She has yet to be formally identified. Three other people were injured, police and prosecutors said.
Witnesses told police that prior to the shooting, an argument broke out between two men when one of them, thought to be Peterson, pulled out a gun and fired at the other man, hitting someone who was standing nearby. The shooter then started firing into the Sixth Avenue bar “indiscriminately,” the story reported.
Peterson is being held on a $4 million bail at Pierce County Jail.
