Man killed during overnight shooting in Tacoma. No arrests made, police say

A man was killed in Tacoma late Tuesday night and a homicide investigation is underway.

Tacoma Police Department officers were dispatched before 11 p.m. to the 9300 Block of South Ash Street for a reported disturbance and possible shooting.

About the same time, a 26-year-old man was being driven to the hospital in a private vehicle, according to a Tacoma Police Department news release. Hospital staff pronounced him dead and called South Sound 911. No arrests have been made.

Detectives and crime scene technicians are on scene, the release said.
