Mother of 7 killed in Tacoma park officially identified by medical examiner

A woman found deceased at Oakland Madrona Park in Tacoma last week has been officially identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Ngaire Tusi, 31, was found dead Dec. 18 near the 3100 block of South Madison Street from a gunshot wound to the head. Her manner of death is listed as a homicide, the medical examiner said in a news release.

Tacoma police officers were dispatched to the scene at 8:35 a.m. following a report of an unresponsive woman. Tacoma Fire Department crews arrived and pronounced her deceased, according to a Tacoma Police Department X post.

As of Wednesday, there had been no arrests made, according to a Tacoma Police Department detective William Muse.

A GoFundMe was created to go toward funeral expenses and Tusi’s family. She was a mother of seven children, and the fundraiser said she “loved her husband and babies with all her heart.”

“She didnʻt deserve this. She was such a blessing to everyone who knew her. She is an amazing mother, wife, daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, in-law and most of all FRIEND,” the GoFundMe said.
