Puyallup police released a sketch Thursday depicting a man suspected in two attempted child lurings this month.

The man is white, in his early to mid-20s, 5 feet 10 and 150 pounds. He had short, spiked black hair under a backward green hat and was wearing a green-and-yellow long-sleeved shirt.

He was driving an older silver Subaru hatchback with purple tinted windows, no front license plate and a loud muffler.

The first incident happened about 7:45 p.m. July 9 near the Chestnut Hills apartment complex, 209 21st Ave. SW. Police said a man offered candy to an 8-year-old girl but was scared off when her older brother walked up.

Three days later, a man grabbed the arm of a 9-year-old boy walking with a friend on 27th Avenue Court Southwest and asked if he wanted to be scared. The man drove away after the boys ran.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Puyallup police tip line at 253-770-3343 or email puyalluppd@ci.puyallup.wa.us.
