Man charged with groping girls in Wild Waves pool

A Seattle man was charged Wednesday with groping two girls last weekend at Wild Waves Theme Park.

Off-duty Federal Way police officers arrested the 37-year-old after investigators received two statements from the young girls. He was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 for the two child molestation charges.

Police said the man groped a 15-year-old and 11-year-old, who did not know each other, in the theme park wave pool.

Wild Waves security alerted the off-duty officers after being contacted by one of the girls and the other girl’s mother.

“I felt very violated and uncomfortable around him,” the 15-year-old wrote in her statement.

The 11-year-old wrote: “I felt very alarmed in how he grabbed me.”

“Wild Waves Theme Park takes any reported incident extremely seriously and has systems in place to protect the safety of our guests,” Todd Suchan, the park’s general manager, said in a statement.
