Man found deceased near park-and-ride prompts death investigation, Tacoma police say

Tacoma police have begun a death investigation after a man was found deceased near a park-and-ride Thursday morning.

Tacoma firefighters were dispatched around 7 a.m. to a report of a man lying in the grass near the 1700 block of South 56th Street. Fire personnel determined the man dead at the scene, Tacoma Police Department spokesman detective William Muse told The News Tribune.

Tacoma police said that it is too early to tell if the man’s death was a homicide or not. Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office will rule the official cause and manner of his death, Muse said.
