Man fatally shot in Fife parking lot Saturday and suspect still at large, police say

A 28-year-old man is dead after a shooting in a Fife business parking lot Saturday night.

Fife police officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 5300 block of Pacific Highway East at 10:27 p.m. Officers located a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. They immediately began life-saving measures until Tacoma Fire personnel arrived, according to a Fife Police Department news release.

Tacoma Fire took the man to a local hospital, where he died at about 1:30 a.m., the release said.

The release said that the shooter drove away in what was described as a white sedan before police arrived.

A suspect has not been identified as the investigation continues.

This is the first homicide in Fife this year.
