Tacoma police investigating shooting near Jefferson Park

A 23-year-old Gig Harbor man was in stable condition Saturday after he was shot in the chest near Jefferson Park in Tacoma’s North End, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

The man called police about 6:15 a.m. and reported the shooting, Cool said. He was taken to a hospital and treated for injuries.

He told police he was approached by two men, a fight ensued and he was shot. Police were still investigating the incident Saturday.
